KFC Bold Coffee SA 23

For the KFC Bold Coffee SA 23 commercial, I worked with directors Joris Noordenbos and Erik Dekoning at Chucks Studio across two locations, Cape Town and Amsterdam. The brief called for something that matched the product's intensity, so we built the shoot around practical lighting and tight framing to keep everything feeling immediate and grounded. We moved between setups quickly, which meant choosing gear that wouldn't slow us down but could still hold detail in both bright South African daylight and controlled interiors. The coffee itself became the hero, and that meant respecting how light actually behaves around liquid and steam rather than fighting it with heavy rigs. It's the kind of job where you learn fast what works and what doesn't, and honestly, that's when the best decisions happen on set.
