Raffaello-ice-cream

I shot this tabletop commercial for Raffaello ice cream with director Niels Thonsen at Moviemagic Int, and honestly, it was a masterclass in restraint. We ran dual capture on Phantom VEO 4K and Alexa Mini LF with Supreme Primes, which let us nail both the high-speed moments and the locked-off beauty passes without compromise. The SFX team, Patrizio Todisco, Andrea Bonomi, and Franco Aroni, built something genuinely tricky with the product, and food stylist Iviano Ravasio kept it looking real rather than plastic. We shot at Moviechrome Studios where the gaffer Gigi Pasquali and I had room to dial in the lighting precisely, no compromise on the geometry. The Phantom operator Sonia Veronelli and focus puller Gabriele Gregorig kept the high-speed work locked, and Oras Rhnema's color grading pulled everything together in post. Sometimes the best tabletop work is invisible, which I think we achieved here.
