Nil Moliner - El Despertar

For the Nil Moliner music video "El Despertar," directed by Gustavo Arens and Adrian Egea, I shot on the Phantom Flex to capture the kind of temporal flexibility that a performance piece demands. We went anamorphic with Arri Master Anamorphics, which gave us that wider, more cinematic frame and the lens flares and bokeh you want when you're building mood around a singer. The format let us play with speed ramping without losing that organic, film-like quality. It's the kind of setup where the gear serves the song rather than overshadowing it, and honestly, that's when you know you've made the right call. Barcelona-based but working worldwide, I find that choosing between digital speed and optical character often comes down to what the performance needs to breathe.
