Nunca pa Atras - Tromboranga

For Gustavo Arens' music video Nunca pa Atras with Tromboranga, I shot on the Alexa Mini paired with Canon C-Series glass to capture the raw energy of the performance. The challenge was balancing handheld immediacy with controlled framing, letting the camera move with the music rather than against it. I wanted the image to feel tactile and present, not polished or distant, so we leaned into natural light where possible and kept the color palette tight. Working on this Barcelona-based production that traveled, I found the Alexa Mini's flexibility invaluable, giving us the dynamic range to preserve detail in both shadow and highlight without needing a truck full of lighting gear. The result sits somewhere between documentary urgency and cinematic intention, which felt right for the track's intensity.
