La Cocinera

I shot La Cocinera, a tabletop commercial directed by César Pesquera at Finesse, on a Phantom Flex paired with Cooke S4i glass. The brief called for high-speed capture of food in motion, so we leaned into the camera's capability to freeze detail at scale, pulling focus through layers of ingredient and steam without losing that tactile quality you need when you're selling the craft of cooking. Adrian Egea ran the tabletop unit while we dialed in frame rates and shutter angles to keep the motion feeling organic rather than gimmicky. Working with those primes meant committing to blocking early, but that constraint actually sharpened the composition. It's the kind of job where the gear serves the idea, not the other way around.
