Mowi

I shot this Mowi commercial in Bucharest with director Joris Noordenbos, and we leaned hard into practical lighting to keep the food looking honest. The challenge was balancing natural-looking key light with enough fill to hold detail in the shadows without making it feel overlit, which you know is the death of food work. We kept the color palette restrained, let the salmon speak for itself, and trusted that good composition and timing would carry the narrative. It's the kind of job where you're essentially invisible if you've done it right, but the prep work, understanding how light moves across the product, locking down camera positions early, that's where the real work lives. Joris had a clear vision for the pacing and mood, and my job was to make sure the image supported that without fighting it.
