I shot this Subway commercial for director Paolo Tonoli and production company Hamlet in Paris, focusing on the meatballs marinara hero product. The brief was straightforward, but the execution demanded precision in food lighting and macro work to capture the sauce, cheese, and bread texture without losing appetite appeal. We kept the lighting naturalistic but controlled, letting the product speak for itself rather than drowning it in artificial drama. It's the kind of shoot where you spend half the time dialing in the exact angle to catch the mozzarella pull, then another half making sure your key light doesn't blow out the marinara. Paolo's direction was clear and collaborative, which meant I could focus on the technical side, getting the color temperature right for quick cuts and maintaining consistency across multiple takes. Food commercials live or die on those details.
